Two years after surprising the world
by enrolling in Harvard Business School, 39-year old supermodel Tyra Banks has earned her degree,
graduating from the school’s prestigious Owner/President Management
Program.
Though an already successful
entrepreneur with several lucrative ventures under her belt, Tyra said she went back to school to
better learn how to manage those businesses, as well as the multitude of
opportunities that were coming her way.
So, what will the CEO of Bankable
Productions do with her newfound business knowledge? Well, when being
interviewed by Professor Youngme Moon
earlier this month, Tyra said she
wants to turn her brand into a sustainable legacy and cites Walt Disny and Virgin’s Richard Branson as her role models.
“I’m not looking to build my company
based on fans,” she said. “Rather, I feel a responsibility
to spread my message of empowerment, self-esteem, and beauty in a way that’s
consistent with my ethos and, hopefully, favorable to my bottom line.”
Spoken like a true businesswoman.
