Ekiti State Prison Escapees Re-Arrested For Robbery In Ondo State

The Ondo State Police Command on Thursday [May 21] arrested three men, who escaped from a prison in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State, during the November, 2012 jailbreak for alleged involvement in another robbery operation in Akure.

The suspects Banji Adedayo, Tope Daramola and Segun Akinseye according to the Commissioner of Police, Isaac Eke, are among the gang that have been terrorising the people of the state.

Islamic Cleric ‘Alfa’ Runs Mad, Dies In Lagos After Drinking Herbal Mixture

An Islamic cleric, Taiye Bamidele, fondly called Alfa, has died after consuming herbal mixure in the FESTAC area of Lagos State. The 24-year-old was said to have first acted strangely and behaved violently before dying on Saturday.

A day to the incident he had complained to his friend, Akintunde Akinwunmi, that he was ill. Akinwunmi was said to have gone to a herb vendor around the area, who sold the herbal mixture to him. It was learnt that shortly after taking the concoction, he started laughing hysterically.

One of the victims of the Ejigbo market pepper torture incident, Ajoke Agomo, yesterday narrated how she was tortured alongside her two daughters for allegedly stealing pepper at the Oba Morufu International Market in Ejigbo, Lagos on February 11, 2013. Agomo narrated her traumatic experience while testifying before Justice Oluwatoyin Ipaye of an Ikeja High Court at the trial of 10 persons charged for the crime.

One man has died after a double shooting at a McDonald's parking lot in Waldorf, authorities say.

The Charles County Sheriff's Office says a male and female were shot at around 6 p.m. Wednesday in the 11000 block of Mall Circle nearby St. Charles Towne Center.

Policemen Demand N65,000 To Rescue Kidnap Victim

The family of an Anglican Church cleric, Rev. Louis Nebo, says policemen attached to the Anti-Kidnapping Squad of the Enugu State Police Command demanded N65,000 to rescue the man of God from the kidnappers’ den. It was learnt that N15,000 of the sum had allegedly been paid to the operatives before the kidnappers contacted the family, demanding N10m ransom.

Louis, 57, was reportedly kidnapped by some masked gunmen around Umumba Ndi Uno in the Ezeagu LGA of the state last Saturday. The pastor, who lives in Aguobu Umumba, was said to be returning from a meeting at a neighbouring community around 5.30am on the fateful day when his captors ambushed him.

President Jonathan's Cousin Kidnapped In Bayelsa

Armed men once again struck in Bayelsa State as President Goodluck Jonathan’s cousin, Mrs. Patience Egbeni, 35, and one Kate Eni were yesterday [May 20] kidnapped by men dressed in military camouflage at Akimpelai community in Ogbia LGA, Bayelsa State. The women were said to have been abducted from their provision stores located along the riverbank. The gunmen were said to have forcibly taken the victims into a waiting speedboat to an unknown place. The abductors were said to be six in number when they stormed the community through the river at about 8.30a.m. and seized the women.

ALLEGED RAPE!!! Assistant Superintendent Of Police Arrested For Raping College Student In Ogun State

The Officer-in-charge of the Osiele Police Post, Abeokuta, Ogun State, John Mafoya, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, has been arrested and is being quizzed at the state police command headquarters for allegedly raping a student of the Federal College of Education, Osiele, identified simply as Oluwaseun.

Two Siblings Found Dead In Ibadan

The corpses of two siblings were discovered at House Number 13, Cele close, Agbowo, Ibadan, Oyo State on Wednesday [May 19]. According to PUNCH, they were identified as three-year-old Munachi, and Amarachi Ukoha, 16. They were found inside one of the eight rooms of the bungalow.

Their mother, Chinoye Ukoha, said her son, Munachi, and her sister, Amarachi were living with her and complained of stomach disorder on Tuesday night.

Security Guard Dies In Lagos After Winning Drinking and Smoking Bet

A security man, simply identified as Thompson, has died after drinking a bottle of a popular alcoholic drink and smoking five sticks of cigarette in two minutes, which were the terms of a bet he entered into with others he met at a joint.
