|Mo Adeniran is embarking on his recording career after winning The Voice 2017|
As the shock of winning The Voice 2017 begins to sink in for Mo Adeniran, he’s revealed just how great a mentor Jennifer Hudson was to him – and how keen he is to work with her in the future. The 21-year-old – one of two members of team J-Hud to make the final – couldn’t hide his enthusiasm for the singer during a chat with metro.co.uk, calling her ‘phenomenal’.
‘Jennifer Hudson’s been phenomenal, to be such an icon and be so caring,’ he explained.

‘She’s had my back since day one, she always believed in me and I was happy to get the win for both of us. I thought she did an amazing job throughout the competition, if you think about it half of those four finalists (Mo and Jamie Miller) were here so she did an amazing job.’
High praise indeed – but does this mean there could be a repeat of that brilliant duet we saw on Saturday night’s show?
‘Hopefully we might team up,’ Mo admitted. ‘We’ve exchanged our details and she’s offered her support so we’ll see what happens. I think to a J-Hud collaboration would be pretty awesome.’
Mo had been the favourite to take the series title from the very first edition of the show – which made its debut on ITV this year – after wowing all four judges with his rendition of Iron Sky in the blind auditions.
He admitted initial doubts, saying: For me I was worried about not getting any chair turns,’ but added: ‘I thought “Just give it a go, what’s the worst that can happen”?
‘Of all those shows on television it’s the one that is about the artistry, it’s the voice, it’s not about the look,it’s about you as a vocalist and who you can be.’
The rest for Mo is now history,. and he’ll be heading into the studio this week to begin work on his debut EP – which will be released later this year following a Voice follow-up show entitled The Winners’ Story.

Of course anyone who’s watched the show before will be aware that the previous five winners – Leanne Mitchell, Andrea Begley, Jermain Jackman, Stevie McCrorie and Kevin Simm -have achieved varying levels of success.
But Mo’s determined to make his own victory work in his favour.
‘I feel I’m very motivated – that’s not to say that previous winners aren’t motivated, I just think I’m a lot more hungry for it,’ he explained.
‘I’ve got a great team behind me, I’m just a different artist altogether, I’ve got a great management team, I’m with the best label so I think I’m going to get results if I put in the work.
‘Who’s to stop me from succeeding?’
