Allure Magazine's April edition is dedicated to the beauty of diversity, celebrating all women of colour with a cover that explodes with melanin and features models Dilone, Imaan Hamman and Aamito Lagum.

Not only is the edition a celebration of skin colour, but also of natural beauty.

There has been no retouching; you can still see Imaan’s stretch marks in the (which look incredible).
Speaking on Facebook Live on Tuesday, Editor-in-Chief Michelle Lee said: ‘She has a (few) stretch marks right here. And I love, love, love that we’re showing that.

‘We’re not pointing it out in the issue (even though I’m pointing it out) but I think that – to me – that is real beauty. ‘We’re all real. we’re not re-touching the hell out of everyone so everybody looks fake.’

Inside, 41 women of colour share ‘the stories of their lives through their skin’ – from Meghan Markle to Grace Lee, and Dascha Polanco to Misha Green.

‘Our skin is so much more than a reflection in the mirror,’ the magazine wrote on Instagram. ‘Our skin is the metaphor that defines how we’re seen – how we see ourselves.

‘Allure asked 41 women of colour to tell us the story of their lives through their skin—and skin tone. Because our skin can be both a vulnerability and a defence. But most importantly, it can be a source of celebration.’
