A substitute teacher accused of inappropriately touching three pupils claims his tongue fell into their mouths. Pete Garcia Hernandez, 49, has been charged with three counts of indecency after several parents complained he had touched and kissed girls in a first grade class in a Looscan elementary school, in Houston.

Three female pupils told authorities that Hernandez kissed them on the mouth, touched their chests and asked them to sit on his lap. He initially denied the accusations, though later said the kisses were actually an accident.

He said the kisses occurred when he was ‘speaking close with them and his tongue accidentally went in their mouth’, according to court documents.

Hernandez is no longer employed to teach in the district. He told investigators the encounters led to ‘sexual thoughts’. A spokesperson from Houston Independent School District told KTRK: ‘the safety of students is always the district’s top priority.’
