Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have reached a custody agreement over their six children seven weeks after announcing their divorce in September. The couple have decided that Jolie will continue having sole custody of the kids, while Pitt continues his ‘therapeutic visits’, though further details of what these entail were not provided by the stars’ reps.
AP reports that this agreement was reached more than a week ago in consultation with childcare professionals.

It’s possible that a judge will weigh in on the agreement but parents are often able to reach custody settlements without a formal hearing. According to Jolie’s lawyer, the ‘health of the family’ and children, aged from 8 to 15, was the reason Jolie filed for divorce in September, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’.

At the time, reports of a fight between Pitt and their oldest child Maddox on a plane — the day before the Tomb Raider star filed for divorce — suggested Pitt’s behaviour may have been to blame for the marriage breaking down.
No details on the filing Pitt made last week have emerged, except that he also cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason for their divorce, and named September 15 as the day the relationship ended.
