If you’ve got an exhibitionist streak and you’re feeling strapped for cash then this one’s for you. Coventry University want to film couples between 18 and 25, having sex. The films are going to be ‘tastefully shot’ and will show real couples, really getting it on. A bit raunchier than the usual medical trials broke students sign up for, then.
The idea is to promote safe sex by showing real couples getting it on, proving that stopping to put a condom on definitely doesn’t need to ruin the mood. The NHS currently spends £620 million a year treating STIs, which experts think is down to people seeing condoms as ‘unsexy.’ Despite the fact that a trip to the GUM clinic is a whole lot less sexy than reaching for a condom…
The films are part of a project titled ‘Wrapped’ which will become available to people when they order a chlamydia self testing kit. When people sign up to the project they get access to the films, as long as they’re over 18. People who sign up to get tested can also order a free variety 12 pack of different condoms and a headphones case with a secret condom pocket.
As well as videos of people getting busy, there’ll also be other clips which instruct on putting condoms on in a way that will ‘increase pleasure.’ Raunchy.
The project’s leader Dr Katie Newby explained: ‘We are hoping that the work will ultimately reduce the incidence of sexually transmitted infections amongst young people through increasing their use of condoms.’
