Heung-Min Son has set a new Premier League record by becoming the first Asian player to win the Player of the Month award. The Tottenham midfielder was the star man in September with four goals and an assist in three games.
Son also beat Kevin De Bruyne, Adam Lallana and Romelu Lukaku to the award. And Son is surprised he’s beaten former Manchester United midfielder Ji-Sung Park to the record.
‘Many players deserved it,’ Son told the Premier League’s official website.
‘Ji Sung-Park had great seasons. ‘I can’t believe I’m the first player from Asia [to win it]. I’m very thankful for the support. They support every day, every weekend, every game.’
