Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has claimed interest in Reds stars such as Nathaniel Clyne and Philippe Coutinho from La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid is a good thing.
Full-back Clyne had this week been linked with a move to Barcelona to help solve their right-back crisis, while Coutinho has been liked with Madrid by the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jamie Carragher.
In a surprise move Klopp expressed his joy at the speculation linking his key first-team players with Europe’s biggest clubs: ‘that’s a really good sign!’ said Klopp.

‘Only the big clubs, yes? A few months ago it was like ‘he will go to Aston Villa and try to bring them back to the Premier League. ‘What can I say? It’s better that they talk about Real Madrid and Barcelona.’
While admitting that such rumours were a positive to him, Klopp did swear when quizzed on the links and sarcastically denied that any such deals were even a possibility.
‘How many matches have we played? Nine? F***ing hell, nine matches and we talk about all this stuff,’ Klopp added.
‘Do they want to get them in winter or the next window? Do they think they can buy Clyney in winter? Come on. It’s nice but not important.’
