ALLEGED CHILD RAPE: Popular Lagos School, Mind Builders, Omole, Rocked With Rape Allegation Involving A Teacher and A 5-Year-Old Student

Every parent’s wish is to enroll their kids/wards in schools where they could be sure their children’s safety is at least guaranteed. But when school staffers including teachers who are meant to tend to these vulnerable kids start to prey on these kids – it then means parents are at the mercy of the child carers.

The aforementioned was the situation in one of Lagos private schools, Mind Builders School at Omole Phase 1 to be precise, where a 5-year-old girl was alleged to have been sexually assaulted by her teacher. Yes, a 5-year-old innocent child!

The Fine Art teacher (name withheld) was said have sexually assaulted his pupil last term, and it was just two weeks ago the girl’s parents got a wind of what has now become ‘a shocker of their life’.

According to my exclusive source (unnamed) who is also a parent at Mind Builders and whose child is in the same class with one of the victim's siblings, the girl’s parents got to know about the incident during a ‘mother–daughter talk’. ‘The mum read a blog story about a schoolgirl that was raped and killed in Ghana, this ignited a conversation between mother and her now 6-year-old girl and in the process she opened up and told her mum the graphical details of how her Fine Art teacher sexually assaulted her’, my source narrated. The victim said the assault took place in the toilet and art-room.

For the parents, it was like an endless nightmare upon hearing such heartbreaking details from their infant. The parents reported the issue to Lagos State officials who managed the process wherein the victim was taken to a hospital for medical assessment of her mind-blowing claims. Sadly and so traumatizing is the fact that this innocent kid sent to school to learn was indeed RAPED, yes, according to a medical report. Talk of schools these days becoming a trap for vulnerable children, no thanks to the teachers who were meant to keep watch over them.

Mind Builders is a popular private school in Lagos with high reputation. The school would do anything to protect its earned reputation. Little wonder the school management was quick to come to the aid of the accused Fine Art teacher when the state government officially wrote the school on the rape allegation. As far as the school was concerned, ‘the small girl lied against her teacher’. The Fine Art teacher and the school management also enjoy some form of support from some parents of the school who are already divided over the alleged rape saga. Parents who are on the side of the victims’ parents are being ‘intimidated’ by the school, my source told me.

In a swift reaction, Mind Builders School yesterday sent newsletters to parents stating, ‘parents are no longer allowed access into ther classes and that parents are now to drop off and picked up their kids at a designated place (the school gate, not even the school reception)’. According to my source, 'I got to school this Wednesday, 5th October morning and saw two bouncers at the gate preventing parents from entering the school premises'. My source took the images posted here showing some of the bouncers employed by Mind Builders Schools.

Some parents have expressed their hugely disappointments at the way and manner Mind Builders School handled the whole rape scenario. While some are saying, the school would rather quickly defend its reputation, than treat the rape allegation with utmost dispatch such as inviting their Fine Art teacher for questioning, some alleged, the school practically hid the concerned teacher when the police came to arrest him last week Tuesday. It took hours before he was finally turned in. The mother of the 6-year-old victim told my source earlier today [Oct 5], that the school owner, Mrs Falore has not call to sympathize with them or even ask about the child. This speaks volume of how Mind Builders School treats the issue of child rape, either alleged or not.

The alleged rapist teacher who is not believed to be married has since been in police custody helping the police with relevant information.

Lagos state government is on the matter which is now in court…In actual fact, there was a court sitting yesterday, 4th October 2016.

UPDATE: via PerSecondNews

A 35-year-old teacher, Chukwu Ndubuisi, was arraigned before an Ogudu Magistrate’s Court, in Lagos, for allegedly raping a six-year-old pupil (names withheld) in the school premises.

The Fine Arts teacher, according to the prosecution, committed the offence after the school hours at Omole Phase 11, Ikeja. He was arrested by policemen from Ketu Police Station.

The Investigating Police Officer, Betty Coker, told the court at his arraignment that results of medical test conducted on the minor confirmed 'attempted penetration'. The offence is punishable under Section 260 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

Magistrate S. Hamzat, who adjourned the case to November 3, granted the accused N100,000 bail with two sureties, adding that the sureties should deposit N50,000 each with the court registrar. The magistrate said one of the sureties must be a blood relation of the accused and must be gainfully employed by a reputable organisation with evidence of tax payment.

A copy of the case file has been sent to the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for advice.

UPDATE - 6th October 2016

A contact from Mind Builders School reached out to the blogger moments ago (Oct 6th), and disagreed with some of the issues raised by the blogger. But the contact would not be able to say much since the matter is already in court, and of course as a token of respect to the parents of the alleged rape victim.

The contact emphasized the fact that Mind Builders School management WILL never ever treat the issue of rape with levity. That the school is cooperating with the relevant agencies of government on this matter, and the teacher in question was at no time protected over the rape allegation. The contact went on to say, ‘every action taken by the school so far consequent upon the rape allegation was taken in the best interest of both the parents and the pupils’.

The contact stated that the school authority sympathizes with the little girl in question and her parents, and hopes the court do justice to the matter which is already before it.

UPDATE: 6th October 2016

Yesterday afternoon Mind Builders School gave parents newsletter informing them of an emergency meeting scheduled for today, Thursday, 6th October 2016.

Information gathered showed that the School PTA excos was on the school's side because it felt the parents of the alleged rape victim could have reported the matter to them. Apparently one of the excos said at meeting that what if the girl was lying. This led to an uproar and the school called in the police, possibly to restore law and order.

There was an uproar during the school and PTA meeting, the police were called in to restore law and order.

  1. I have kids in this school. It is sad & sickening that the school will make light of such an issue. To those saying the little girl is lying especially parents......your experience is round the corner. Wait for it

  2. I am dissapointed at how the school has managed this. Why hire bouncers for the parents that keep your school running?Mrs Falore pride they say comes before a fall.

  3. How come a school like this has not been closed down by the govt? Whether alledged or not, the school should be penalised for trying to cover it.

  4. Hehehe....the letter states "supposed member of staff". If I remember my ENG101 very well. The word supposed means assumed but not necessarily so.
Mindbuilders School does this mean the accussed teacher is not on your payroll?

  5. I am a parent of mind builders with three children. These are all rumors from jobless housewives and parents all summarized.
I believe the school is 100% with the parents of the child in question, what sort of school will encourage rape?? Did you think of that? Would they not lose parents if they protect him? You need to get your stories right before thinking it is okay to defame a company. How do you expect us parents to feel saying this. Stop all the lies, why not ask your sources exactly what their problem is with the establishment, you will have alot to learn.

    3. Get your facts right. No one is saying the school is encouraging rape. The issue here is that they are denying it to save face. Is the school's reputation more important than the little girl's life?

    5. The blogger and her cohorts are out to defame the School at all costs, one may think they are jobless people. The owner of the school, Mrs. Falore, is an ardent lover of children and have their interest at heart. She does not condone flogging, how can she condone rape.? People are mindless fa

    3. If you are in support of the school's attempt to intimidate parents that are seeking justice, your children both male and female are next in line for a rape experience.

    4. Since you know her so well, do inform her that her actions in the last few days does not match her supposed positive intent. I understand the need to protect her school's reputation (I will do same in her shoes) but she is going about it the wrong way.

Firstly, hiring bouncers is a blunder, it puts her on the defensive. I don't know if your children find it cool but mine don't.

Secondly, inviting the police at different times is totally unnecessary. It only shows the deplorable state of the relationship she has with her customers (parents).

Thirdly, she's made utterances that are unheard of a mother and a woman her age. This is an alledged rape case of a little child at that. She needs to be more sensitive and choose her words carefully.

    5. If you want justice tho why not go to the court room. Why the school building?

    6. It is so obvious that not everyone that went to school is literate. You just exhibited the depth and breadth of your ignorance. The school management went to the police station in an attempt to bail the teacher. That's why some parents came to the school.

  7. Oh the school now sympathises with the girl and her parents. But they were claiming that the allegation is false. They even reiterated it through their errand PTA excos at the so called emergency meeting today.

  19. Mrs/Mr Blogger congratulations on getting views and comments in your blog that you have never gotten before. More grease to your elbow. The essence of this post is 'justice right'? Yet you are the only one financially profiting this, how can you use an alleged rape of child as gossip/gist or to get your self known, you should be ashamed of your self. In addition your 'source' is here commenting like a jobless person that she is obviously. We live in a absurd world. In this new world of technology, I understand it isn't any of yours child but you think when this girl is a teenage she won't see this stories or her friends won't? You don't think she will be marked as a rape victim, do you really think you are protecting her? I mean the school and the teachers name is right there, doesn't take rocket science to know her name or family. You are spreading this story more and more, and you are so happy to be saying update this update that. You think your are tarnishing the school involved name and the rapist yet you can't read between the lines. Nobody here as said how is the girl or how is her family? No one has said a word about the rapist. I don't understand the Point of the pictures and how it has to do with the story, the whole post is just to bash and bash this school?
Again Your sources that are parents if they so don't believe in the school why not withdraw your child, if they feel intimidated by police then walk away as oppose to taking photographs like stalkers. Why would you leave your child in a school your believe is unsafe? What is this blog post going to do to exactly? Walk into the school and withdraw your child. So many questions but clearly I know only your little minded source/parent of the school is the only one making comments and your only viewer here so obviously I don't expect a responsible answer.

    1. Typical response from an obvious beneficiary of the school owners. The matter is in court why hit your head head against the wall. So, you if are raped or your child, you rather keep quiet because of stigmatization. It is people like you rapists always go after, they know you would be too shameful to talk about it. Don't worry I pray it's your turn soon. I wish to see how you would react to it.

This school obviously and severally attempted to protect the alleged rapist teacher and you are here blabbing. Have you read the newsletter wherein the school referred to it teacher as 'supposed member of our staff'? What does this tell you Mind Builders solicitor?

  20. Mrs supporters club it's evident dat a jobless house wife like u, with nothing working but an over size mouth and a six inche tongue, seek to support d school for whatever petty favor u might get from them, who knows dey might even discount ur school fees dis term. But just remember you will choke on dis ur stupidity Bcoz what goes around comes around and all ur kids will be stigmatized.

  21. Oh so now you remember it is in court, foolish woman, after judging the whole situation yourself. Already knew your response will be foolish anyway, didn't except much to be honest. So it's okay for this blogger to gain financially from this right? No one asked the little girl not to speak she was brave and spoke , but stupid little minded, jobless women like think it is okay to spread, publicize and announce for the whole world to know the underage girl who was raped - Mother of the year. What exactly are you trying to gain that is the question?

    1. It is obvious that rape is a normal thing in your family. Your uncles probably raped you and yes the same teacher has raped your child too. That explains why this is no big deal for you. For some of us, rape is an anomaly that must be exposed and we will continue to do so as long as the school authority & gullible people like you try to hide it.

How stupid can one person be? You claim there is only one viewer and commenter but you have commented twice yourself. Hahaha......mumu
