Former Manchester United and Wales winger Ryan Giggs has reportedly held talks with Swansea City about taking over as manager of the South Wales club. Swansea’s current manager is 60-year-old Francesco Guidolin, with the Italian having overseen a deeply disappointing beginning to the season for the Swans in which they’ve picked up just four points from a possible 18.
Giggs, 42, is reported by The Times to have met with Swansea representatives on Wednesday following the club’s defeat to Manchester City in the EFL Cup, and with in-form Liverpool visiting the Swans in the early kick-off on Saturday Giggs could yet be the man Swansea turn to should a change be made.

According to sources of the report however, Swansea’s new American owners Jason Levien and Steve Kaplan are reluctant to dismiss Guidolin ‘if the fans and players are prepared to be patient.’
Giggs’ only previous managerial experience is as caretaker of Manchester United following the sacking of current Sunderland boss David Moyes in April 2014, during which time he recorded two victories, a draw and a defeat from the final four games of the 2013–14 season.
Swansea currently sit 16th in the table after four defeats, one draw and one win from the opening six games.
