A Louisiana pastor is taking Easter quite literally this year for his church’s Easter program by getting sealed in a coffin for three days and emerging on Easter morning.
Baptist minister, Bishop Rickey Moore says something amazing will happen this Easter weekend. The minister of Sunrise Baptist Church in Shreveport, 3220 Lakeshore Drive, will lead an Easter celebration to give the congregation an example of what the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus was like.
"It is as if you were really there when it occurred - in 3D," Moore said.
As part of the celebration, Bishop Moore will be 'buried' in a coffin and sealed up for three days until 3 a.m. Easter Sunday to depict the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Bishop Moore shared information about the three-part celebration on Twitter and invited those to stop by at any time during the weekend to visit him in the coffin.
"Two o'clock in the morning you want to drive by - five o'clock in the morning you want to drive by and ask the question, 'is he still there?'"
The burial took take place at 3 p.m. Good Friday.
