It was a tragic incident in the Ado Odo area of Ogun State on Thursday morning as a policeman slumped and died during a fitness exercise. The Nation gathered that the victim, Mr Bolade Agboola, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), was attached to the Ado Odo Divisional Headquarters.
Agboola, the Divisional Crime Officer (DCO) station, collapsed during the exercise which took place at nearby Alamuwa Secondary School, where he joined others for a round of physical exercise.
According to reports, after the victim passed out, he was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was confirmed dead by doctors who attended to him.
Before his death, Agboola had gone to his hometown in Ekiti state over an illness and had recently returned, The Nation reports. Doctors had told him to engage in fitness exercise, a source said.
The remains of the police officer have been deposited in a mortuary.
