An Austrian teenager who went to Syria to join Isis in April 2014 was used as a sex slave before being beaten to death, a former prisoner has revealed. Samra Kesinovic, 17, fled her home to join Daesh and became a ‘poster girl’ along with friend Sabina Selimovic.

Within six months of her arriving, however, it was believed she wanted to escape and was killed while trying to get out of Raqqa. She had made several attempts to flee, but after her final bid for freedom she was re-captured and battered to death with a hammer.

A fellow prisoner, from Tunisia, described how Samra had been used as a ‘sexual present for new fighters’. Samra and her friend Sabina are both of Bosnian descent and their families moved to Austria as refugees.

When they left Europe, it is reported they left a note that said: ‘Don’t look for us. We will serve Allah and we will die for him.’ When they arrived, they posed in burqas holding AK47 guns and it is believed they married two Isis fighters
