70-Year Old Woman, Hajia Aisha Alhassan, Arrested In Kano For Aiding And Abetting Sales Of Illicit Drugs

A 70-year old woman, Ha­jia Aisha Alhassan, has been arrested by the Kano State Police Com­mand for aiding and abetting the sales of illicit drugs to criminals who cause havoc in the society, Sunnewsonline reports. 

The police who confirmed her ar­rest on Friday offered that she was arrested with two others. Abba Mu­stapha, who is a staff of Corporate Security, Gabasawa and Jamilu Abba, a tricycle operator.

Kano State Commissioner of Po­lice, Alhaji Muhammad Musa Kat­sina, said she provided the ware­house, which served as a store for dangerous drugs as well as a ren­dezvous for various criminal gangs to consume the illicit drugs.

He estimated the market value of the drugs recovered from the ware­house at N60 million, saying that they included, Indian hemp, co­caine and tramadol, among others. According to him, the dangerous intoxicants belonged to one Yusuf Ali of Jean Quarters, Sharada , who is a staff of Lead Star Academy, Kano, and a firewood seller in the same quarters.

The police commissioner dis­closed that the police are in pos­session of intelligence to the effect that Jean Quarters is host to sev­eral notorious drug dealers, warn­ing that anybody who lives in the neighborhood, where illicit drugs are sold and consumed, but fails to expose same would be arrested and charged to court for abetting an of­fender.
