Two Brothers Perish In Lagos Early Morning Inferno

An early morning inferno claimed the lives of two brothers on Thursday [Oct. 14] at the Nigerian Navy Officers quarters at Camp site Kirikiri town, Lagos. The cause of fire was not immediately unknown, but a source said it started from the kitchen of a three bedroom flat and allegedly razed properties worth millions.

It was learnt that the incident occurred at about 3:30am, killing the two, aged six and nine years, whose father is a Navy Captain.

The deceased brothers’ mother was said to have gone for night vigil in an undisclosed church and allegedly locked the kids indoors when she left.

The fire was said to have been put out by a combined team of Fire Service, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and policemen from the Kirikiri division, at about 4:30am.

The National Emergency Management Agency and LASEMA confirmed the incident.
