17 years after the mysterious death of the acclaimed winner of the annulled June 12, 1993 presidential election, the Chief MKO Abiola, his younger brother, Mubashiru Abiola is dead.
According to reports, Mubashiru passed on at the age of 73 after battling with a three-month long protracted illness. The septuagenarian was buried in Abeokuta on Saturday, October 3, 2015 after he was pronounced dead on Friday, October 2, 2015.
Present at the burial were wives, children, relations and other sympathisers, who besieged the deceased’s residence in Sabo, Abeokuta to bid him farewell.

While the burial ceremony was conducted by the Chief Imam of Gbagura, Prof. Kamaldeen Abdul-Azeez Balogun, other dignitaries spotted at the funeral include former Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Sarafa Ishola; the General Manager, Ogun State Television, Ayinde Soaga; his older brother, Yaya Soaga; and a member of the House of Representatives, Mikahil Kazzim, among others.
