Diezani Alison-Madueke and Mother Sighted At Westminster Magistrates Court; Court Detained £27,000 Seized From Diezani

The trial of Nigeria’s former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke may have commenced in London, United Kingdom.

According to series of tweets from a BBC correspondent, Sam Piranty who was at the Court premises, the National Crime Agency at Westminster Magistrates Court today [Oct 5] sort an application for detention of cash seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act against the embattled former minister and her mother under Section 295 of proceeds of crime act.

The application was granted until 5th April, 2015 for £27,000.

The ex-minister was however not present in court but was earlier sighted at the Charring Cross Police Station along with her mother, Beatrice Agames.

Recalled that Mrs. Alison-Madueke was arrested in London last Friday alongside her son in-law and three others. The UK Crime Agency has yet to reveal the identities of the other three Nigerians who may be charged for money laundering offences.
