|Back home: Joe Jackson landed at Los Angeles airport on Tuesday after a two week stay in hospital in Brazil, following a stroke and three heart attacks|
Joe Jackson has been recovering in Brazil after suffering a stroke followed by a trio of heart attacks last month. Yesterday [Aug 11], it was finally time for him to return home to Los Angeles, two weeks after his health scare. The Jackson family patriarch was seen in a wheelchair at LAX airport after flying home from Sao Paulo, where he fell ill while celebrating his 87th birthday.
The father of 11 looked frail as he sat in the wheelchair, dressed in a black jacket and trousers and trilby hat. Jackson was wheeled to his waiting car as he headed home to reunite with his family following the terrifying health scare. It was previously reported that the star's family wanted him to return to the US for treatment after his stroke, but he subsequently suffered three heart attacks before he was due to leave the country.
Michael Jackson's father was fitted with a pacemaker during emergency surgery after the heart attacks. Jackson's heart stopped beating for 10 seconds before he was revived by medical staff at the Albert Einstein Hospital in São Paulo, TMZ reports, citing family sources and his publicist. Jackson had been in intensive care in hospital since suffering a stroke a few days earlier, while in Brazil for his 87th birthday party.
