|From catwalk to catfight: The Ukrainian models were confronted by staff (above) in Chongqing, China|
Fashion models are used to getting freebies as part of the job. But it seems two Ukrainian models are too used to getting clothes for free - they were caught trying to steal clothes from a supermarket. Staff confronted the pair outside the shop in Chongqing, in south west China, which led to a fierce tussle for the stolen clothes, reported the People's Daily Online.
One of the models repeatedly said that she could not speak Chinese, in Chinese, as she held tightly onto her handbag. Amidst the pushing and shoving, one of the women dropped the two stolen items, a green dress and a white t-shirt, on the floor. The manager of the ladies' clothing department, named only as Ms Zhou, said: 'There were something wrong about those two when they came in.'
|Goods: Staff managed to recover the green dress and white t-shirt, which were worth a total of £13.24|
Ms Zhou said she became suspicious when she saw one of the items they had been trying on in the fitting rooms was missing when the pair came out. After one of the girls handed back the missing white shirt, her friend asked for the green dress with the white t-shirt.
Later, the models went to the kiosk, pretending to pay for the clothes, but then walked straight past it. Ms Zhou chased after the pair when she realised they had left the store without paying.
The items that the models took from the shop were worth 128 Yuan (£13.24).
The two women were arrested and taken to the police station for questioning.
