WATCH VIDEO: Texas Police Officer Suspended After Pulling Gun On Black Teenagers

A video surfaced showing a policeman throwing a girl to the ground and drawing a gun on others at a pool party
A white police officer in the US state of Texas has been suspended after video emerged of him drawing a gun at a pool party and throwing a 14-year-old black girl in a bikini to the ground.

Corporal Eric Casebolt could be seen pulling the girl's hair and pinning her down for several minutes, shouting "On your face" as he shoved her head into the grass. He also pulled his gun and pointed it at two black teenage boys before other officers intervened and the youngsters ran away.

The officer also swore and appeared to handcuff at random several black youngsters who protested they had just arrived at the pool party. The incident took place at a residential community in McKinney, 40 miles from Dallas.

A dozen police officers had responded to reports that teenagers not from the residential community, who therefore did not have permission to use the pool, had refused to leave. In the seven minute video, taken by a bystander and uploaded to YouTube, it appeared that white officers, including Cpl Casebolt, only targeted black teenagers in the mixed race group attending the party.

Brandon Brooks, who took the video, said: "A fight between a mother and a girl broke out and when the cops showed up everyone ran, including the people who didn't do anything. "So the cops just started putting everyone on the ground and in handcuffs for no reason. This kind of force is uncalled for especially on children and innocent bystanders."

The case comes amid growing unease across America over the use of violence by police officers, especially against black people.

Meanwhile, the father of the girl, Jahi Adisa Bakari, made a public call on social media for Casebolt to be “fired immediately.”
