The presidential candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC), Major-General Muhammadu Buhari, has polled a total votes of 109,827 against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Dr Goodluck Jonathan, who polled a total votes of 84,555 from 11 council areas of Kogi State.
The figures were released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Lokoja, on Sunday [Mar. 29] night. The results for the 10 remaining local government areas were being awaited.
The results indicated that Buhari won in six local government areas, while President Jonathan won in five.
The APC candidate won in Ogori/Magongo - 2,321 against PDP’s 1,934 votes; Adavi - 22,659 while PDP scored 7,767; Okehi -APC- 17,801, PDP- 5,808; Idah- APC, 10,445, PDP 6,113; Mopamuro- APC-3,881, PDP 2,793 and Dekina -APC18,189, PDP 13,835
The PDP candidate led in Yagba West - 6,639, APC 6,231; Igalamela /Odolu -7,285, APC-6,075; Bassa- 9,964, APC 7,412; Kabba/Bunu 9,009, APC 8,737, Ibaji, 13, 358, APC 6,076.
However, results from Lokoja, Kogi, Okene, Ajaokuta, Ankpa, Omala, Olamaboro, Yagba East, Ijumu and Ofu council areas were still being awaited as of the time of filing this report.
