Yesterday
[Jan. 21], Barack
Obama celebrated being sworn in as the 44th President of The United States with
two well-appointed balls in the nation's capital.
First, the President and First Lady
headed to the Commander-In-Chief's Ball and later headed over to the Official
Inaugural Ball, both held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
For the second year in a row, Michelle Obama turned to American-born
designer Jason Wu to
create a stunning inaugural look. He created a long halter-neck ruby
chiffon custom gown with velvet details. Her shoes were Jimmy Choo and
she wore a handmade by Kimberly McDonald.
Performers at the Commander-In-Chief
Ball included Alicia Keys, Brad Paisley, Chris Cornell, Jamie Foxx,
Jennifer Hudson and Marc Anthony.
At the Official Inaugural Ball,
supporters saw performances from Alicia Keys, Black Violin, Brad Paisley,
Far East Movement, FUN., John Legend, Katy Perry, Maná, Smokey Robinson,
Soundgarden, Stevie Wonder and Usher.
