Television host Piers Morgan is facing the wrath of God-fearing Americans after calling for an 'amendment' to the Bible to allow gay marriage.
The former British newspaper editor compared the Bible to the US constitution while interviewing celebrity pastor Rick Warren on his CNN chat show.
Suggesting Christians should change the word of God to fit with public opinion on same-sex marriage laws, Morgan said: 'Both the Bible and the Constitution were well intentioned but they are basically, inherently flawed. Hence, the need to amend it’.
However, anti-gay marriage campaigner Warren was not buying it and flatly replied there was 'not a chance'. 'What I believe is flawed is human opinion, because it constantly changes', Warren argued.
While the pair agreed to disagree, many right-wing viewers are sure to be enraged by Morgan's comments.
Last week, Morgan sparked outrage after slamming America's gun laws in the wake of the Sandy Hook school shootings.
More than 80,000 people have now signed a petition calling on the US government to deport the brazen Brit back across the pond for attacking America's second amendment.
Ironically, a counter petition by Britain's Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson is calling for Morgan not to be deported.
