It was alleged that the three accused persons raped the victim, Moyidyat Kamorudeen, while she was returning from work at night. The police said the incident happened at about 8:45pm on August 21 at the Ketu area of the metropolis.

However, Adeyan admitted to conspiring to commit the offence but pleaded not guilty to raping the victim.
Counsel to Samuel and Azeez, Mr. F.A. Izegaegb, made an oral application for their bail on liberal terms. But Police Prosecutor, Barth Nwaokonye, who did not object the bail application, urged the court to grant it on stringent terms.
He said, “I urge the court to grant the three defendants bail on stringent conditions so as to ensure that they present themselves in court during tria”.
