Chelsea defender Ashley Cole made his Twitter debut on
Sunday [July 22], and has already used the social network website to taunt Arsenal supporters by boasting his
trophy haul since leaving the north London club in 2006.
The 31-year-old full-back, with 98
England caps to his name, was barracked by Gunners fans who are still bitter at
the way he left the club for their city rivals six years ago.
Since then Arsene Wenger's side failed to claim a single major honour - the 2005 FA Cup their last trophy - whereas Cole has added Premier League title, four FA Cups, a League Cup, a Community Shield and a Champions League winners' medal to his own personal collection.
And Cole took no time in reminding those Gunners fans who attempted to belittle him of their own side’s deficiencies in recent times, tweeting: "I am what I am!!! Winnerrr!!!! Hahahahahahah, 11 to me 0 for you!!!”
The left-back then attached a
photograph of him with the Champions League trophy.
Additionally, Cole responded to celebrity fan Piers Morgan's taunt - calling the defender "Cashley", a
reference to the way in which he left his former club, responding:
“@piersmorgan Guess Whos winning... !!"
Cole continued by tweeting a mocked up image of the eight trophies he has picked up since his arrival at Stamford Bridge, alongside the Arsenal badge and a blank space.
Furthermore, he later tweeted: "tut tut tut, love to give it out but can’t take it when the truth is told, babies!!!! thought people on here had sense of humour!!!!!"
