First winner of West African Idols Timi Dakolo married his girlfriend, Busola, an ex-Zenith bank staff, in Ilorin today [Mar. 31]. The two already have a son, Alex, who was born in September 2010.

Timi wanted to keep his wedding away from the press, but then he announced it on Twitter this morning. He tweeted, “ I think I am getting married 2day as oppose to yesterday….“.

Timi was born in Accra, Ghana to a Nigerian father, Bayelsa-native David and a Ghanaian mother, Norah, who died when Timi was thirteen. His grandmother Ateni Dakolo, who lived in Port Harcourt raised him, and he credits her as his early singing teacher.
