National Enquirer Publisher Describes Whitney Houston Casket Photo As 'Beautiful'

The publisher of the National Enquirer has described the photo of Whitney Houston laying dead in her casket as "beautiful".

Fans across the world were mortified to see the legendary singer's lifeless body splashed across the front page of the gossip magazine earlier this week. The shocking photo was seemingly taken in the funeral home during a private viewing attended only by Whitney's closest family and friends.

While the magazine has received intense backlash over the scandal, the publisher stands by the decision to print the photo. "I thought it was beautiful" publisher Mary Beth Wright told FoxNews.com.

Meanwhile, the funeral home has spoken out against the scandal, saying that they do not want to be associated with the publication.

It is still not known who took the photo although it has said it is most likely a member of Whitney's family and friends, or someone who works at the Whigham Funeral Home.
